Parkython Book Club Series – The Brain’s Way of Healing

Published by Kevin Krejci on

Join us and special guests for our first book club meeting to discuss Chapter 7 from Norman Doidge’s book, “The Brain’s Way of Healing”.

This chapter, “A Device That Resets the Brain” explores the PoNS neuromodulation device, currently being used to treat Parkinson’s Disease (PD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, and multiple sclerosis for balance, gait, and cognitive deficits.

The Parkython team will be joined by guests Kurt Kaczmarek, the electrical engineer who developed the PoNS device as well as a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivor and a Person living with Parkinson’s (PWP) who have both used the PONs device for rehabilitation and recovery.

We encourage everyone to read Chapter 7 of “The Brain’s Way of Healing” by Norman Doidge before the program (but join us on Zoom either way) on Saturday, October 15th from 1pm (PST) to learn more about this transformative technology.
